Athens Swing Cats, the first group to bring lindy hop swing to Athens, is starting a new series of parties called the Versus Parties.

During the Versus parties, musical dilemmas will be posed, and guests will be called to provide their own solutions. Dilemmas such as Sharks vs Jets at the West Side Story, or Wanderers vs Baldies at the Wanderers, or Glenn Miller vs Tommy Dorsey at the Battle of the Bands, or Elvis vs Jerry Lee Lewis, Rolling Stones vs Beetles, Marylin vs Jane Mansfield, Cary Grant vs George Clooney…

The first party starts this Friday, May 21 at the Stoa club in Athens, and after 22:00 a battle will take place between Glenn Miller and Gene Vincent. The band leader that was identified with big band swing music against the rock n’ roll and rockabilly pioneer.
