The Toasters, a ska band with one of the longest histories in the US at the moment, are coming to Athens, Greece for one appearance on 6 May at the An Club. With more than 4,000 live appearances and non-stop tours, the Toasters are a top stage presence in the genre that should not be missed. Their sound remains faithful to the authentic 2-tone reggae-ska roots, with influences from the ’60s Jamaica sound and some elements of punk and soul added on.

The Toasters were formed in 1982 in New York by British guitarist and frontman Rob “Bucket” Hingley. Since then, they have had nine releases on the historic Moon Ska Records label (home to some of the greatest names in ska-reggae) and several live recordings. Their latest recording was One More Bullet in 2007, which garnered enthusiastic reviews.
