On Tuesday, 29 March 2011, Kalfayan Galleries, will present the second solo exhibition of Kuwaiti photographer Tarek Al-Ghoussein with photographs from his “E-series”. The exhibition will run till May 7, 2011.

The photographer captures roundabouts in different regions. Familiar to all of us, roundabouts serve to impose order on the landscape and at the same time, they serve as an element that controls movement. The roundabout in each image has recognizable references to the surrounding landscape and is a specific part of it.

Of Palestinian origin, Al-Ghoussein was born in Kuwait. His work has been included in many exhibitions in Europe, the USA, and the Middle East and in 2009 he was one of the artists that represented the UAE at the Venice Biennale.
