The “bad boy” of rock n’ roll is coming to Athens, Greece for a single appearance. Jerry Lee Lewis, one of the leading rock n’ roll musicians in the world, will be appearing live at the Lycabettus Theatre in Athens on 23 July. Lewis will be in Athens as part of his tour; his appearances so far indicate he is back and full of energy to remind us that he is one of the greatest legends of rock n’ roll.
Jerry Lee Lewis’ career started in Memphis, recording for Sun Records in 1956. His first hit was the single “Crazy Arms” in 1956. His next one, “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On,” in 1957, became his anthem. His later songs were equally successful: “Great Balls of Fire,” “Mean Woman Blues,” “Breathless” and “High School Confidential” all helped to establish him.
When the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was created in 1986, Jerry Lee Lewis was one of the first 10 people to be inducted.
His new CD/DVD was released in March 2010 and features, among others, Neil Young, Kid Rock and Kris Kristofferson.
