Olympia Doukakis at the American College of Greece

Oscar-winning actress Olympia Dukakis will visit The American College of Greece during the week of January 18-23, 2010, and will offer a public lecture titled “A Woman’s Story: a Conversation with Olympia Dukakis” on January 19, 7:30 p.m., at the John S. Bailey Library on the Aghia Paraskevi campus. Simultaneous translation into Greek will be provided.
Dukakis’ visit launches a series of events celebrating the 135 years of The American College of Greece. During her visit Dukakis will also offer acting master classes to ACG alumni and students of DEREE-ACG’s Theater Arts program
Olympia Dukakis is an actress, director, producer, teacher, activist and author of Ask Me Again Tomorrow, her best-selling memoir. She received an Academy Award for her work in the film Moonstruck. She has starred in over 140 Off-Broadway and regional theater productions, as well as dozens of films and continues to teach at various universities and colleges throughout the US. She actively participated in her cousin Michael Dukakis’s presidential campaign in 1988 and serves as a member of several organizations, including the National Organization for Women (NOW), Women in Film and Amnesty International.
