Exhibition for the life and art of Frances Rich
The exhibition entitled “Frances Rich – La Gazelle” is featuring works by Rich herself and works by other famous colleagues of hers such as Diego Rivera, Alexander Jacovleff, William Abbot Cheever, Malvina Hoffman, Geza Kende, and Clarence R. Mattic. The exhibition is organized by Deree College and runs from December 1 till June 30, 2011. The exhibition is curated by Deree’s Megaklis Rogkakos.
Frances L. Rich was stepdaughter to Charles Rich and famous silent film actress Irene Rich. She studied English literature at Smith College and during the 30s she played in sic Hollywood productions. She abandoned acting to work on sculpting, after studying the craft for two years with the renowned American Malvina Hoffman in Paris.
In January 2009, Frances L. Rich’s trust fund donated all her works of art to the American College of Greece as part of a wider agreement between the College and the fund.
