Funky fever at the Half Note

Half Note club is pleased to welcome Big Sam and his band on February 19, 2010. One thing is for sure; his funk rhythm will definitely lift us up!

Funky Nation is a band based in the urban tradition of New Orleans music – not only jazz and not only funk, but both combined, and on top of that some rhythm ‘n blues and soul music.

Big Sam Williams is a trombonist from the legendary Dirty Frozen Brass Band, and is considered one of the best in New Orleans. He has worked with Elvis Costello and Allen Toussaint – but his own “vehicle” is the Big Sam’s Funky Nation band, with emphasis on rock rhythms and jazz improvisations which moves and exhilarates the audience.
