Tribute to the American Film Industry

The Michalis Kakoyiannis Foundation in cooperation with the Cultural section of U.S. Embassy in Athens, are organizing the 1st Silent Film Festival, on Thursday, September 30 until October 12, 2010. With the support of Studio, Parallilo Kikloma and Mr. Christos Papadimitiou.

Michalis Kakoyiannis selected and proposed 19 of his favorite films, shot in the US, during the first years of filming. The tribute will open on September 30 at 20:00, with a speech by American professor Mark Garrett Cooper, specialist in silent films, who will discuss with the audience. The last screening on October 12 will be prologued by Michalis Kakoyiannis and will close the tribute. Screenings will be accompanied by live music with improvisations and original compositions.
